Schedule & Workshop Descriptions

Writing · Performing · Publishing · Promotion

PSi's Poetry Cross Training Conference is three full days of intensive workshops and evenings of fun presented by some of the top professionals in the poetry performance field. The conference capitalizes on a small group aesthetic as well as a highly effective mentoring program providing individual attention and instruction for the attendee. We guarantee a student to faculty ratio of no more than one to six.

Workshops are 1-1/2 hours long - mentoring sessions are scheduled for an hour but may be extended at attendee and instructor's wish.

Come prepared to pack your days with writing and performing. Past topics have included: Performance tips and tricks - writing as craft - revision and editing - work generation and the creative process - do's and don'ts for feature performers and school presentations - promoting yourself and others - publishing fine points. The intimate atmosphere of the Oneonta Campus will provide ample one on one time with the instructors outside of the scheduled classes as well.

This year, as requested by past delegates, we are building in some sacred writing time for attendees as well and a traditional daily sharing style facilitated workshop.

PSi is pleased to be able to offer CEUs to attendees.

Quotes from some of the 2007 PSi Crosstraining Conference attendees.

"I have attended many conferences over the years. This was probably the BEST one in terms of content and teaching quality. I learned so much and became a much better writer in a very short time. Thank you to all."

"I feel like a completely different poet. A better one."

"What I received was worth a million!! Best thing I have ever done with $500!!!"

"The mentoring program was my favorite part of this whole experience; I got a selfish chance to pick my mentors brain about anything and everything. My mentor also surprised me by holding an extra little boot-camp-like writing session, which was fun and productive for me."

"Did I mention that this was the BEST professional development experience I've had in 8 years of teaching? I got so much that I can use for myself, but more importantly a considerable amount a material to use in my classroom. I can't believe that I'm saying this…but I hope this summer flies, so I can get back into my classroom and start using the new tools in my box!"

"LIFE CHANGING!!!!!!!!!"
